Learn step by step how to install a cup hinge
Buy cup hingesCup hinges are a type of hinge that are typically installed on furniture and cupboard doors and act as the axis of the doors. They allow a wide opening range and are adjustable depending on the door and its edge. Their peculiarity is that, as their name indicates, they are shaped like a round cup that is embedded and screwed into the door.
Installation and adjustment process
Let's break down in a simple and practical way how the installation process would be carried out:
1. Check if you need a 35mm or 26mm diameter cup hinge. If the door has a hole, you will need to check the diameter of the hole to be able to choose a cup that fits . If there is no hole, we recommend always buying a 35mm diameter hinge . This is the most standard when it comes to getting replacement parts, quality hinge, weight supported, useful life, etc.
2. Position of the door in relation to the edge . Depending on how the door looks once closed and how it opens, you will have to choose between three types of hinges: straight, angled or super-angled. We have left a photo as a guide so that you know the type of door and furniture you have.
3. Once you have taken into account the position of the door and the diameter of the cup, there is one last thing to consider: the opening angle of the door. That is, depending on the type of rotation you need to make, you should select a hinge with more or less neck. In our collection of cup hinges you can filter by "opening angle" to find the hinge you are looking for as quickly as possible.
4. Now all you have to do is buy the cup hinge and once you receive it, make the appropriate cutouts in the doors of your furniture. You will screw the cup part into the door and the opposite part, the base, will be fixed to the edge of the cupboard on the inside. Lag screws are included so you can fix it to any wooden furniture.
5. You will install the 35mm cup hinge 22mm from the edge and 10cm from the bottom and top of the door. This is where you will make the 35mm hole. On the other hand, for the 26mm cup hinge, you will make the hole 17mm from the edge .
6. Once the cup is inserted, screw it to the door to secure it. Also secure the base to the edge of the cabinet. It is important to be careful in this step and ensure that the hinge is positioned straight against the edge of the door and the cabinet.
7. If the hinge has a 3D adjustable base , once installed, adjust the width, height and depth with respect to the placement of the door. Here is a photo that suggests how to do it to give it the final touch. This way you can make sure that the door is a continuation of the furniture and fits well to all measurements.
How many hinges should you install on your furniture and cabinets?
Here we give you the number of cup hinges you need for the correct operation of the door opening.

Buenas Noches,
Saludos, gracias!.
